Sharon Byrne works for a national feminist organization and was the President of the United Nations Association of Santa Barbara and Tri Counties from 2023 to 2025. She has served as a delegate to the UN Commission on the Status of Women since 2020, and has presented at the UN on Prostitution and Pornography as forms of commercial sexual exploitation that prevent women from achieving true equality.
